Position: Production Technician

Summary

Position: Estimator
Summary

The Senior Estimator is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for multiple large-scale woodworking projects.

The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above-average attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of work, and a strong commitment to tasks completed on time. the person in this position will take work seriously, have a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed, specialized work is the major focus. The person in this position will require clearly defined work, responsibilities, and reporting relationships, ongoing and thorough training opportunities to develop expertise and increase confidence, and frequently expressed appreciation of the person's competence, conscientiousness, and loyalty. the position will provide security in a stable work environment, allowing the person to plan for, focus on and complete the tasks on hand. when changes in the nature of the work occur, the person in this position will need direction, training, and support. the position will generally be task-oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful and cautious approach to work.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs project take-offs and reviews drawings and other project information to determine the scope, material, and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.   

  • Requests vendor and subcontractor quotes, interpret and process RFI's, and generate quotes lists by project item and save them to the project folder. 

  • Consults with clients, vendors, and designers to request additional information and clarification on project requirements, scope, and value engineering potential.

  • Organizes project folders in project directory using all information obtained during estimating and hand-off.

  • Prepares & submits proposal, scope of work, bid form, and other required bid documentation, including price breakouts and value engineering. 

  • Attend scope review meetings with customers

  • Prepares awarded projects for hand-off presentation to project team. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and customers

  • Supports Project Managers by identifying and quantifying changes in scope and costs, calculating and preparing change orders, vendor quotes, budget updates, and other tasks as needed.

  • Identifies project general condition costs such as travel, field costs, overtime, and others to ensure complete project costs are identified prior to bid submission. 

  • Identifies project insurance, permit, license, and tax requirements and coordinates with the accounting team to quantify these costs in the estimate. 

  • Interfaces with the other departments such as project management, engineering, production, and installation to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates. 

  • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

  • Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future variances between estimated and actual costs. 

  • Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.  

Education

Position: Project Manager
Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, communicating, and coordinating other internal teams to ensure successful execution and completion of multiple large scale woodworking projects.

 

The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Drive, determination and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet these established criteria are necessary for successful job performance. The job environment is structured and job expectations are clear. While the pace of the work is faster than average, quality is never compromised. The focus of communication and organizational relationships is based on technical expertise. The work requires specialized technical problem solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology, and the demonstration of the values of integrity, quality and caution. New ideas and concepts are also important but will be carefully analyzed before communication and adoption. When the job involves managing others, there is a need to exercise the necessary authority to assure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and point them in the right direction, answer inquiries, and create a welcoming                 environment.
  • Organize and maintain files and databases in a confidential manner.
  • Screen phone calls to the main number, redirect calls and take messages as appropriate.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and reservations as needed.
  • Receive deliveries. Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Mail outgoing packages as requested, including shipping boxes via FedEx or UPS.

  • Acquiring and preparing for submittal finish samples for a new job. Training will be provided.
  • Preparing job binders for Project Managers.
  • Reconciling billed hours against system-generated hours for a subset of team members.
  • Maintain reporting that is already in place.
  • Support coordination of travel arrangements as needed.
  • Process documentation of all tasks and reporting.
  • Coordinate repairs to office equipment.
  • Carry out administrative duties for staff such as copying and scanning as needed.

Qualifications
