Millwork Design Engineer

Summary
Job Duties & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the design, development, and coordination of shop drawings for custom manufacturing in the architectural woodwork industry within the commercial construction industry. The shop drawings will be created from construction documents provided by the design architect of the particular construction project. You will be responsible for the accuracy and quality of the shop drawings design as well as data related to the components within the shop drawing design software.

  • Create high quality shop drawings within the provided design software

  • Assure proper assignment of materials for assemblies

  • Interpret architectural drawings

  • Work within a team of 7-10 other engineers/drafters 

Education

  • Two-year degree, or higher, from a technical school or university is required

  • Relevant experience can be considered as an equivalent to a degree

  • Autodesk AutoCAD experience

  • CabinetVision or similar experience is preferred, but not required

  • Willing to hire a Senior part-time until Graduation

Experience

  • Three years or more experience within the construction industry is preferred

  • Three years or more experience with design software

  • Or Relevant Degree
