Job Description

 

Summary

 

The Truck Driver is responsible for materials and products loading, pick-up, delivery and/or unloading.  Also, this position is responsible for assisting the Installation Team to deliver products to the appropriate location on the project site. 

 

This position requires a very careful adherence to well-defined work where repeatable results are needed. The work is highly precise in nature and requires a very strong attention to detail. It is vital for the work output to be very high quality, with correct results, time and time again. Checking and double-checking is often necessary; individuals performing the job must be patient and conscientious. Both the content and the presentation are important; all work must be highly polished. There is little ambiguity in this job. It is very clear what needs to be done, and what the expected results are. This clarity will come either from the company's management, or from established professional disciplines and processes. The established procedures and processes must be followed very closely; there is little room or necessity to modify them. Much of the work can be accomplished by working at a steady, even pace. There is much consistency and familiarity from one day to the next. It is generally feasible to plan large blocks of work ahead of time. When work duties do change, there is ample foresight and time to prepare. The work is best accomplished working as an individual, without a great dependence on other people or "politics" for results. The work is helpful in nature; providing support and/or service to others in an environment free from competition. Interacting with customers requires a professional, formal manner where the focus is on completing the task pleasantly and correctly.

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

 

Responsible for materials and products loading, pick-up, delivery and/or unloading.  Also, this position is responsible for assisting the Installation Team to deliver products to the appropriate location on the project site.  Products to include but not limited to: 

  • Casework/Cabinetry 

  • Countertops (plastic laminate, wood, or solid surface) 

  • Solid surface 

  • Mouldings (Running Trim) 

  • Solid wood pieces 

  • Custom items (desks, benches, banquettes, face frames) 

Specific job duties & responsibilities to include but not limited to: 

  • Truck Driver 1 

    • Safe driving skills 

    • Average driving and delivery skills 

    • Somewhat flexible hours to support delivery needs 

    • Work productivity is average 

    • Work quality is average 

  • Truck Driver 2 

    • Items included in Truck Driver 1 

    • Advanced driving and delivery skills 

    • Flexible hours to support delivery needs 

    • Work productivity is above average 

    • Work quality is above average 

    • Individual is reliable and without attendance issues (occurrences consistently remain below 6) 

  • Truck Driver 3 

    • Expert driving and delivery skills 

    • CDL license is preferred 

    • Very flexible hours to support delivery needs 

    • Work productivity is excellent 

    • Work quality exceeds expectations 

    • Individual is reliable and without attendance issues (occurrences consistently remain below 3) 

  • Keeps work area and truck clean and free of debris 

  • Keeps work area and truck organized 

  • Attention to detail is required 

 

 

Education

  • High School diploma, GED, or higher is required 

  • Relevant experience can be considered as an equivalent to a degree 

 

Experience

  • One or more years’ experience within the woodworking, manufacturing, or construction industry is preferred 

  • One or more years’ experience in Finish Carpentry is preferred 

 

Computer Requirements

  • Time tracking software – Innergy

  • Shop drawing software – Innergy

  • Material requisition software – Innergy

 

Language & Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to effectively present information, questions, or discrepancies to Plant Management for resolution

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; mentally, hand-and-paper, and calculator.
